IPA STUDIO’s polyphonic adult choir approaches singing not only as an individual performance but as the experience of making music together, combining voice, breath, rhythm, musicianship and ensemble work.
IPA Studio's polyphonic adult choir in Hamburg brings together group singing, voice work, musicianship and ensemble practice. The work is conducted in Turkish. A central focus is learning to hear one's own voice within the group while experiencing how different voices form a shared musical structure.
Breath, voice, rhythm, listening, musicianship and polyphony are approached as connected elements. Participants focus not only on their own vocal part but also on listening to other voices and developing shared rhythm and musical expression within the ensemble.
Choir practice connects individual vocal awareness with collective music-making. Balance between voices, shared beginnings and endings, musical direction and stage awareness form part of the ensemble process, allowing polyphonic music to be explored as both a technical and shared performance practice.
